Annual Backflow Testing Sprinkling System

Backflow prevention devices stop the backflow of potentially contaminated water into the domestic water supply system. Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) and Schererville Water Department regulations require that these devices be tested on a regular basis. Testing must be completed by a State of Indiana Certified Backflow Prevention Device Inspector.

Click HERE for a list of IDEM Certified Backflow Prevention Device Inspectors.

Please note that the Town of Schererville and the Schererville Water Department does not endorse or recommend any of these companies, this is merely a list of contractors available in the area. Irrigation/sprinkler systems require annual testing; testing results are to be submitted on or before JUNE 1st each year. All results may be faxed to the Water Department at (219)864-1628, e-mailed to publicworks@schererville.org or mailed to: Town of Schererville Water Department Backflow Certification, 10 East Joliet Street Schererville, IN 46375.

**Failure to comply with testing is a violation of Town Ordinance #1241 may result in fines and/or loss of water service.**

Questions or concerns may be addressed to Chad Nondorf, Certified Water System Operator at (219)322-6688 or via e-mail at publicworks@schererville.org.

Thank you for your cooperation and helping to assure that your public water supply system is safe and protected for years to come!
