fitnessAll year long the Schererville Parks Department offers a variety of classes designed to help you stay healthy, active, and fit.

Each class is taught by one of our trusted instructors.

Get your Zen on with meditation through Sahaja Yoga! This FREE event will teach you how to manage stress and see both mental and physical health benefits through regular practice. This class is welcome to all skill levels. Instructor is Archana Gupta. Sign up at the Schererville Community Center or call 219-865-5530.




Zumba fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow dance moves to create a one of a kind fitness program that will blow you away.  Regardless of fitness level, Zumba is fun and energizing! This class is instructed by Sue Bourget.

Libra Series Thursdays Oct 4-Nov 8     

Scorpio Series Thursdays Nov 15-Jan 10 (NO CLASS—Nov 22, Dec 20, Dec 27) 


This class is suitable for both beginners and for those with some experience.  It will include basic breathing exercises, foundational poses, sun salutations, and each class will end with a quiet relaxation.  This is your chance to discover the transformative power of yoga: vitality, balance, peace, and a sense of well-being!  Please bring a mat.  This class is instructed by Lynn Bluethmann.

Second Street Dance Studio will offer 6-weeks of beginners ballroom dancing for adults.  Couples will learn the most popular dances for weddings, parties, and reunions.  Couples only and fee is per couple.
