The Perry Ferrini Dog Park is dedicated to former Schererville Town Council member Perry Ferrini. He was known for his love of animals, especially his pet dog Cinnamon. The park is located on West 91st Avenue and Mathews Street in Schererville. The dog dark features over 2 acres of fenced area, including an area separated for smaller dogs. A single main double gated entry point allows for access into the park, via electronic key card. Activities include equipment for obedience and agility activities. There is also open play areas for free activity such as frisbee and ball catching.
Additional amenities include benches, drinking fountains (for dogs and people), waste disposal area, earth berms, native planting, shelters, and a sign at entry detailing the rules and regulations of the park.
Registration and Membership
Take your dog out for some exercise at The Perry Ferrini Dog Park! Register for your 1-calendar year membership at the Clerk Treasurer’s office. Please download the registration packet on this website for all of the details. Proof of vaccinations -Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)- is required at time of registration. Any questions – Please call the Park Department at 219-865-5530.
Dog Park Registration Packet
The annual cost is $60 for one dog and an additional $15 for each additional dog for residents (no more than two dogs per resident). Non-Residents’ annual cost is $100 for one dog and an additional $25 for each additional dog (no more than two dogs per member). Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. Membership runs through the calendar year; that being January 1 through December 31.

- Pursuant to Lake County Ordinance #1244F: Pit Bull and Pit Bull mixes are prohibited from
participating in unleashed dog parks. Consequently, Pit Bull and Pit Bull mixes are not permitted
to be in the dog park.
