The Town of Schererville Board of Safety, seeks to hire suitable, already certified Officers through the State of Indiana. Police applicants are to immediately serve as Police Officers for the Town of Schererville, subject to all applicable state statutes and guidelines required by the Indiana Public Employment Retirement System for Police Officers (INPRS). Applicants must already be enrolled in the Indiana Retirement Fund (77' Fund) to apply.
The Schererville Police Department will be accepting applications for Police Officer beginning Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The application must be submitted by Friday, November 7th, 2025, by 4:00 PM.
Applicants who qualify can obtain an application from the Town of Schererville website / Facebook page, or the Schererville Police Department Facebook page.

The Schererville Police Department offers:
- 2025 Probationary starting salary $60,194.94
- 2025 1st class patrolman salary $74,980.36
- Lateral hires may be waived to 1st Class Patrolman upon completion of 6 months of service (subject to Board of Safety approval)
