Facade Program:

The Schererville Facade Program is focused on improving or upgrading buildings housing stores and businesses in the downtown district of town, along Joliet Street and areas in close proximity to it. A map highlighting the applicable areas can be found in the Brochure. The primary objective of the facade program is to revitalize the downtown area by bringing in new business, investment, and economic development. Building improvements should preserve and enhance the unique character of the downtown district, and provide an area that better enhances the quality of life for Schererville residents.

Click on the brochure below to learn about the Facade Program in detail. The program steps outline the best course to take in using the program, and the application to join the program has been provided as well.

The target of TIF is economic development, expanding property values, and promoting job growth. Key objectives are providing and maintaining new, additional jobs for Schererville families, allowing the tax base of Schererville to flourish and the economy to become more competitive in the 21st century business world.
